    A Beintot

    English:
My friend, there is a 1956 Sky Hawk automobile displayed on this tread # 35 and # 36 which is very nice. It has some improvements and the price is a third of that of the other automobiles you were looking for. I would seriously consider. Sorry my old French high school

    See you soon

Mais le Sky Hawk est un modèle d'un an; et les Hawks de 1956 avaient une hotte d'un an seulement. Le "Sky Hawk" rouge et blanc a un capot plus récent.

Perhaps Tom Noller can explain the later hood on the '56 Sky Hawk.

In English: You are correct Brad but at this point, Alain could probably find a correct 1956 Hood. I guess my point is of all the cars that have been on the pages of this post, this is the most promising all the way around as far as condition and price. I will go back to the other post and provide original English.

I have know of the car for several decades, and I didn't know that it had the incorrect hood. I know Tom, the current owner Bill, and Bill the previous long term owner (deceased) and I truly believe none of them was aware of the substitution. So don't shoot the messenger!

The current owner had to put significant resources into the car to correct unseen problems. IMO the asking price is more then reasonable.

            No one ever saw this?
            Really????????????????????????????????????
Sure, it can be corrected, if it bothers you, and maybe it doesn't, but how isn't it noticed?

Not everyone is an expert on every car, even his own, and with the proclivity for change that I see in many post-war owners, few would care anyway.

Perhaps, but this has been discussed, many times previously, once at least, even on this thread! Still, this is a very beautiful Sky Hawk!

I am with you Mark, it's VERY obvious a "1956 Identifying Mark", even though many have been replaced with the MUCH better availability '57 to '62 Hood.

What I miss MOST and would change, is the lack of the Chrome fake Air Scoop.

This one is only missing the "Crest" Emblem on the Left side of the Grille.

And, it looks like a spectacular example! I love it.

I guess my take on the car should be-what it is, is what it has become, over the last sixty five years. You either try to enjoy it for what it has become or you don't. For me there are far more tasteless examples of cars whose owners have thought that they could improve upon. As an avowed, but open minded purist, I would be proud to have the car in my collection.
