  • (Remastered!) GT Hawk Commercial

While surfing the Internet, I happened upon this little gem: A masterfully done, perfectly-1960s ad presented by Studebaker for their "new" redesign of the Hawk, the Gran Turismo! This version is remastered by the Studebaker National Museum. All credit goes to them.

Jake Robinson Kaywell: Shoo-wops and doo-wops galore to the background of some fine Studes. I'm eager and ready to go!

1962 GT Hawk - "Daisy-Mae" - she came dressed to kill in etherial green with a charming turquoise inside. I'm hopelessly in love!

Yep, classy enough! Kinda sets the standard...

Nice ad. The other cars are 1961 models, not 1962s as the Hawk is. Of course, she was waiting for the guy and not the car.

            "...leather-soft bucket seats..."
            Clever wordsmithing!

I also noted that. Depends on where you "break" it, it sounds like leather seats. that may be one of the reasons that some people advertise them as leather. Of course those of us that have been around them for some time know that the vinyl on the '62 seats was terrible and the vinyl on the '63-'64 seats was overkill. I can remember Tony (A&M Garage) telling me that he had a set of NOS '62 Hawk seats that went bad on the shelf.
