We woke up to this today-very unusual in Victoria, even though we ARE in Canada.

Here is one from last Christmas. Probably the first time mine has ever seen snow! Not too much snow then, but today it really sucked.

        Great pic Carey...
Every time I see a pic of a Packard Hawk from that angle I get queezy thinking about how much those front wheel well mouldings would cost to replace...
(I won't even hazard a guess at the chrome hood scoop[B)])

          2R5 Bob et al--

Hey! The Gulfstream Blue '60...that's the car I mistook Betty for when I first saw her online. (Had seen yours once at M'view earlier in '07 and knew it was for sale; didn't remember the year accurately of course, just that it was a blue 2dr post). Neat to see the '60 again.

I haven't got any snow shots of Betty...and hopefully I never will while I'm the owner! Cut it very close last year, got her into storage just as a snowstorm hit. Much more timely this year (early November). I do have shots taken on exceedingly cold days, but won't bother posting any of that, since you can't visually tell the temperature...

Nothing I've seen yet, BTW, trumps that fantastic shot over on the members' pix forum, of the Packardbaker wagon hauling the Christmas tree through the gathering dusk, those huge taillights glowing like Rudolph's nose. Most obvious December car-calendar (or TW cover) shot I've ever seen...

I like the winter pictures. These were taken yesterday in the Northern Calif. coastal mountains.

My daughter and I were going to play in the snow and get a Christmas tree.

Got to love the National Forest, $10.00 for a tree permit. $20.00 for gas. $15.00 for a picnic lunch. Spending time with your kids and a Lark for Christmas. PRICELESS!

And I huffed, and I puffed and I stuffed the tree up.

Hope you enjoy the Holiday pics.

I will never have a winter snow picture with the convertible to share, but I did go out Saturday with my daughter and cut down a tree in the local hills about 200 yards from where those pumpkin patch pictures were taken of Bill Pressler's Skytop. 20 bucks. It's a caso tree farm! Great moment in time with your Lark and daughter, Gordon. Glad a snow plow didn't bury you two while you were taking pictures. The State Workers around here enjoy that if given a chance.

Gordon: Great pictures and a great time with your daughter. Enjoy that time; almost like the movie says, she'll be "Gone in 60 Seconds" (it will seem like).

(Now why do your pictures with the super tall trees in a semi-desolate area remind me of the opening scene from National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation?[:0]) BP

                    Thanks everyone,
Had to drive about 7 miles up the mountain on the county road. We had a blast. Now that you mention it. It does look like National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. LOL [:0] All the winter pics look cool. There must be more out there? Thanks for starting this thread 58PackardWagon.

I can't remember when I saw a Studebaker with tire cables or chains installed. A bit different from the drag strip shot.

I think this is the only time I really like the snow. At least from a distance. These are great looking photos. It was in the mid 40s here today. I'm freezing my b*tt off.

It is a little different shot than the drag strip. Two weeks ago I had the white letter tires on the back racing at Infineon. Now I have studded mud grips with snow chains. The studded mud grips alone do through sparks. Don't want to start the Larks tail feathers on fire.[:0]

I love the snow chains!! I wish they were legal here! (although I would have a hard time bringing myself to drive my Lark in snow with all the salt around here...although with the twin traction I would LOVE IT!!)

I pulled my Lark out of the Garage the other day and took a few pics with my camera phone.

No, my passenger side door is not out of alignment, it just isn't closed all the way.
