  • Oldest living Studebaker Dealer?

Does anyone know who the oldest Studebaker Dealer is that is still alive today? My great grandfather is still alive at 95.

Studebaker's Oldest Dealer was A.J. Antran in Arbuckle, CA, but not sure if he is still alive.

I don't think you have to be the "oldest" alive, ANYONE still alive that was an Authorized Studebaker Dealer would be exceptionally RARE Today!

Thanks. Any photos of the dealership? How about promotional items? Did your great grandfather take on any other makes after Studebaker?

I have the 1952 medallion in Lucite awarded to Alex J Altran. I assume this to be a unique award to that Dealership for length of time going back to the days of selling horse drawn wagons. They were located in Arbuckle CA.

Not the oldest, but Dave Meachum, now retired and living in Florida, was a partner with his father and brothers at Meachum Motor Company in Lewisburg, PA. They were a Packard dealer before they took on Studebaker, then sold both. The dealership closed in 1966. In recent years, Dave told me he wondered how many dealers were still alive after all these years? Good question!
