Okay, so lets not dwell on the body modifications on this Stude (although there appears to be a lot of time and crafting involved) but focus on the engine instead. A stude V-8 trimmed-out like a high $ restomod is indeed something different. Swoopy custom air cleaner, port injection, carbon fiber looking valve covers, v-rib belts, fancy headers etc, etc are very cool and different indeed. I just naturally figured this car would be powered by a more recent brand x engine. I don't recognize the super charger, and do you figure those headers are 4 tube ones or 3 tube ones with the center tube larger diameter than the outside tubes? Kind of hard to tell from the photo. Regardless, refreshing sight indeed. cheers, junior

I studied the pictures for a while before deciding it is a Studebaker engine. The center header pipe had me thinking it was a Chevy, but I think the line in the middle is a crease or dark line. Beautiful workmanship."In the heart of Arkansas."

Interesting and I may be a bidder on it, but probably not to the point that would buy it.
I would much prefer the original body shape. I would gladly trade the standard trans. and S/C for A/C.
I am really concerned about the angles and joints of the steering shaft.
Note the excellent hood fit. It took us a lot of hours and work to get the hood on Bob Bourke's Starliner to fit with very small gaps, particularly at the front center.Gary L.

Very interesting engine ...NICE... Beyond NICE !! It is a beautiful build..., with quality and workmanship. The rounded corners, changing of body panels, and seam matching, take a tremendous amount of time and work, and it was done right !! However, I personally don't understand the idea of spending that much time and money on a car that was MORE beautiful before they started, than when they finished ???

Agreed, that steering angle is pretty severe. Way too much angle. The rear wheels could be better placed, as in more centered in the fender opening. The peak in the hood to body fit doesn't appear to fit well, as the deck in the back has odd gaps in areas. The rounded corners of the hood and doors...don't match the "square" corners of the hatch..!?
Looks like it might be nice work...but...design wise...what were they thinking ?

I'd like to see how he adapted the SBC block hugger headers to those heads.

In the pictures, shown with the add, I don't see any side glass. Why's that, doesn't it have any?

It's one person's vision and since it's so extreme, it will be interesting to see if anyone else thinks it's worth $85,000. I know it cost at least twice that much to build and if it was all done in a big name custom shop, it would be at least three times the asking.

Imagen what was coming in the mid 60's, they could if they have had the sponsors, done what the Mustang then did & then the Barracuda & Camaro; speaking fastback style...
(& if they also (then if so) hadn't missed what Plymouth missed as in not open the rear wheelarches they probably would've caught the youngsters at the time...)
But what do I know..?
So close.Last edited by Noxnabaker; 02-03-2020, 12:15 PM.
