I did take 1 1/4" off of the wagon's top before installing it onto the coupe. I thought that the stock height of the wagon roof made the car look top heavy so I wacked it a little. The reason for 1 1/4" was to lower the wagon's roof B post to match the stock height of the coupe's B post. As you chop the top, when you reinstall, the roof has to move back in relation to the body (to match up the rear D post) so the C post also has to also move back (about 1"). This also help make the rear passenger's sliding window more rectangular and in proportion to the rest of the car. To me, the stock wagon's sliding windows look to square.
Regarding the '19 AM shooting brake, I had not seen this example. Wow! Hey may be I should look for a V12 to put into mine.

Anybody remember Bud Cort's E-Type "wagon" from Harold & Maude?

Nothing off the windshield though? The height looks very good just wondering about a chop. Yes, a v12 would be a natural. The cheapest v12 might be a Jag....or you could do a v10 viper motor. Since the car was designed to take a six it would be long enough for the 12 I'd think.

BMW and Mercedes also made v12s. Probably can find a good used one from salvage too.

Nothing off the windshield, it is stock height just laid back to meet the roof off of the shorter wheelbase wagon. Notice it still retains the stock stainless trim where most chopped top Studes do without the trim and go with just the rubber gasket or modify to a glue in windshied.

I thought the windshield looked laid back, didn't look cut down, but just laying it back should lower the top of it a bit. Probably about the same 1.5-2" as the proverbial "gentlemans chop".

Bob Kabchef might agree...but maybe a little fancy for his tastes.
