  • Cellular Commercial

Has anyone else seen the Consumer Cellular commercial with the couple at a car show? A Stude pickup truck is shown in the background at beginning and near the end of the spot is what may be a black 1958 Packard? The black car appears very briefly so my ID may be wrong.

    Is this it?

A couple examines a vintage truck and explains how they fell in love with it at first sight, just as they fell in love with Consumer Cellular's Talk, Text and Data plan, which gets them wherever they need to go. Plans start at $20 per month and Consumer Cellular lets you keep your old phone number. It is endorsed by AARP and has received J.D. Power Customer Service awards seven times in a row.

Had to laugh. Yesterday I took my mother-in-law to schedule her cataract surgery on her left eye. While in the waiting room that commercial came on and she says, "That truck looks like yours!" Gotta give her credit, she picked a Studebaker out of the pack!

I have seen that commercial several times. It centers on a gorgeous '40 Ford pickup, but the Studebaker caught my eye mostly. Maybe a squeal will have the Studebaker as the center character. You can only hope.

That sure is a lovely pick up even if it's a FORD. That Stude doesn't appear stock but that's O.K. it's just as nice. Love old pick ups no matter the make.

I've seen the Stude pickup before but don't remember who owns it. They might be a member of the Northwest Chapter (Portland, OR). Consumer Cellular is in Portland, someone from that area might know what car show that was.
The black car next to the blue/white '56 Ford? I think it's a customized T-Bird.

Could be a T-Bird, it looks very interesting no matter what it is.

I just went through all of my Studebaker event photos for the past 9 years and could not find a photo of that truck. I honestly do not remember seeing it before and I think I would remember that one. Most of the photos I have are of events involving the NW Chapter and the Willamette Chapter. I also went through photos of the 2015 Pacific Can-Am Zone meet in Kelso, Washington.
Maybe someone else from one of the chapters in Oregon and Washington will be able to ID it for us. Sure is a nice truck!

The black pickup that is the star is a 41 Ford, not a 40. The difference is the width of the hood nose ornament.

The graphics on the door should make it easy to spot. Too bad it's out of focus.

                            Looks like a modified 59 T-Bird.
