      Pretty as that car is, the photo underplays that car's most distinctive feature - streamlined back.
      Even more striking is the original concept sketch as printed in Loewy's book, "Never Leave Well Enough Alone."
      As dreaded concept to compromises go, this one made it through relatively well.
      Still a far cry from the inspirational 1933 Pierce Arrow Silver Arrow.

        To my taste (and who knows - maybe others), the REAR of the Studebaker Land Cruiser was a little better integrated, and not as "bizarre" or shocking as the rear of the Silver Arrow Pierce Arrow in '33 (and the '34 production models. l've seen all 3.
