There are a number of watchers......over 40. Chip snipers are those that use a website where you enter your highest bid and when you want the program to automatically start bidding for you. A lot of people believe that this is the way to keep the price down or if they are away from their computer or out for the day, they will not miss putting their bid in. Typically the bidding goes frantic the last two minutes of the the auction. I think the auction site is sniper.com or snipper.com.......something like that.

Serious bidders won't bid until the last 30 seconds of the auction. When I won my '50 Champion in an Ebay auction in July I bid on it once-with 5 seconds to go....

                $306???

I was sitting here refreshing in anticipation of a huge leap at the end- talk about anti-climactic[|)]

Wonder where the buyers were- nervous about a new administration and if their Packard might be re-distributed?

Holiday weekend. Election on Tuesday. Not the best time for a big-dollar ebay auction.

Hey, bam. Cool it on the politics or I'll have to start in with the pro-"Yes We Can" guy stuff!!!

It's a legit question. I saw one sell not long ago for $1105. Why not this one?

The all-important year it was for. The other one was a 1958.

The one that sold for $1105.00 was a 58. I had two individuals who both did ground up restorations on their 58 Packard Wagons and that part was the final piece of the puzzle that they needed. So the bidding got pretty hot.

I tried to bid on it, but for some reason, my 'puter just sat there and spun when I hit the bid button.

You should use esnipe.com. It will bid at the last few seconds for you.
