I know someone has the answer to this-What is this spring originally for with a casting number of 1541866-M ?

    THANKS

    The number shows up as the standard spring for 1957 B & H models, W, F, Y body cars. And 1958 G w/AC.
Couldn't tell you what the M means.

When you say standard, would that be for 6 cyl. cars or v-8 ?
        thanks

Dwain means 'standard'- as in not heavy duty.

          A 'B' model is a Commander (V8) An 'H' is a President (also a V8).
          A 'G' is a Champion- not a V8...

Maybe the M means 'mush' as in mushy ride [?] [:0] [)]

          Also FYI~
a 'W' body is a short wheel base 4 door sedan.
an 'F' body is a 2 door sedan.
a 'Y' body is a long wheel base 4 door sedan.
