I have seen at last one Studebaker pickup where the bed was sectioned down the middle to bring the bed sides in to align with the cab. I thought that it looked much better that way.

The Dodge bed and the IHC bed the same? NO WAY!! Many visual differences. E.g.: the IHC bed is wider at the bottom than the top, etc.

Ever notice Studebaker guys like latter-day Dodge pickups? Could it be the natural progression from the Champ front end to today's Dodge? When Dodge completely restyled in the early 1990s a lot of us thought the new look looked very much like what Studebaker would have looked like had they continued production.

I seem to remember someone once telling me that they wanted a wide bed Champ. He had the Champ, but a narrow bed, of course. Thinking they were 'the same' He found a Dodge ('cause he couldn't find a decent Stude) and soon found that the Dodge was short by several inches~ maybe they aren't exactly 'the same'... Anyone know if this is fact or fiction??? I never saw the actual bed in question, nor can I remember if it was a short or long bed.

If I remember right, the Dodge bed had a front panel that actually wrapped around the back of the cab to a small degree. The Stude bed is straight across the front.

Ford used a bed that was very similar, but the body crease is at a slightly different height relative to the top of the box.

I think there are more Champs still on the road than Dodges that used that box.

Yes, I have noticed a lot of Studebaker guys driving Newer Dodge trucks including myself. I put a Stude hood ornament on my 96 Dodge truck and have since bought a 2006 Dodge truck. At our last Studebaker meet, two new Dodge trucks showed up
