SDCer Phil Brandt's 1956 Golden Hawk is pictured on Page 79 of the January 2009 Ol' Skool Rodz magazine now on newsstands. It's in their report of the big 2008 Road Rocket Rumble on the west side of Indianapolis. The Road Rockets are an old Indianpolis-area "kar klub" out of the fifties; very much old school, rat rod, etc; a real treat to see the anything and everything goes nature of their big show here every year.They don't call out Phil's Golden Hawk as to make or owner, but they must have liked the unique salmon scallops Phil painted along the tops of the car's front fenders. Some Forum members may have seen the car elsewhere and will remember Phil's white car with the custom salmon highlights. (Leonard Shepherd will probably post pictures momentarily.
)'No need to run out and buy the magazine, but it's nice to see a Stude featured. (I've known Phil over 35 years. You math majors can figure the odds of ever meeting another SDCer who was born not only on your birthday but in the very same year: Phil and I were both born February 11, 1946. 'Figure those odds, computer nerds!)
