Last Sunday, which turned out unexpectedly sunny (just like the day of the economy run), Hamilton Chapter past prez and first lady Paul and Lorraine Cronkwright hosted the September chapter meet/BBQ at their place in Smithville, southeast of Hamilton. This year special emphasis was given to the chapter's 20th anniversary, including a showing of the locally-produced Cogeco Cable segment on the history of Studebaker. 23 Studebakers were present under their own power, with three more in Paul's garage/barn for a total of 26 on-site. A really nice turnout for what will be the last "big" chapter event before Christmas time. Here's a sampling of the attending Studes...
Our host Paul's 63 Wagonaire "slider"...

Avantis 20 years apart--an 83 on the left, a 63 on the right. There were no fewer than three gold 63 Avantis at the event.

Currently residing at Paul's is this really nice 58 Commander 4dr, previously owned and driven by a longterm SDC member who sadly passed away this past spring.

And here's a classy 56 President 4dr, whose owner has the knack for posing a car for pix...one front corner straight into the sun, wheels cocked to show the full disc. This is the Prez I'd had such trouble catching earlier in the year. Took tons of shots of it this time!

65 Commander 4dr and 64 Daytona droptop. The former is owned by the son of a Stude employee; the latter by Studebaker Canada's last advertising VP. Very cool to have not just the cars, but a living link as well to our favourite car company's history.

This chapter event went international, with two Studes and owners visiting from New York. Here's one of those cars, an absolutely gorgeous 57 Silver Hawk...

...here's the Hawk's engine room, which speaks for itself.

Paul's current project is an Avanti. Once that is completed, here's what's next. Keen am I to see this 53 come back to life...

One of the Hamilton chapter's founders had a hand in getting me interested in Studes many moons ago; I'm delighted to be in the same chapter now and at the wheel of a Hamilton Stude in time to celebrate the 20th anniversary of this terrific bunch of enthusiasts. Hope the pix are enjoyable...Cheers all
