No Tri-Five Chevys for the umpteeth time or details of window crank variations among 2-passenger Thunderbirds; just a whole edition devoted to highlighting lesser-recognized models of various domestic makes that can generally still be bought and enjoyed for less than $10,000. (I might question a few of their selections as actually being available for those figures in good, driveable condition....but, overall, no big complaints.)
One showcased model is a really sharp 1956 Studebaker Flight Hawk in 1956 Paint Scheme 5642: White over Tangerine. Pretty. The featured Flight Hawk even has a Continental Kit and -are you ready for this- power windows![:0] Author Jeff Koch says the 1939 164.3 CID Champion engine had been "bored and stroked" to 185.6 CID by 1956; incorrect in that the engine had a 3" bore from 1939 through 1964, regardless of valve configuration or stroke. That, and the featured car has a later hood rather than the one-year-only 1956 bonnet, but no big deal.
An issue of HCC worth reading; different and enjoyable. (No, I haven't read every word, so if anyone uncovers other irregularities, kindly withhold the firing squad.)
