Came to this site a few weeks ago and got some good tech advice. Figured we ought to join SDC. Actually I was a member about 30 years ago. I've owned a number of Studes over the years.
I'm John and I'm 54 and my partner Mike is 59. We have a 1953 Commander. Bought it from a friend who bought it from the original owner in 1975. She was still driving it then and he garaged it. Hasn't been outside or driven since. Only 50XXX on it. Some deterioration because the garage wasn't ideal. Some mildew and a little rust. It sat for nearly 30 years before we got it. But overall an intact and good condition complete early 1953. We are both autobody men so we have that all done. The radiator is out being recored now. Brakes all done but the bleeding. Not going for a show car. Just want to make it a nice good looking fun to drive safe and dependable Studebaker. We're far from rich. Some things are on hold. Well that about does it for introduction. I'm going over to tech talk to ask about a couple of parts.
