    Welcome aboard indeed, Dylan.

Whatever you do, don't show your buddy Page 15 of the January 2008 Turning Wheels. The 1963 Lark there on the trailer, #63 in the window, is Richard Poe's unsupercharged R1/4-speed, resting for its trip home after beating a 440/six-pack 1969 Road Runner in a really close 2-out-of-3 shootout...remember, without a supercharger!

Enjoy your time here, and best wishes acquiring your first Stude. BP

welcome. I'm guessing that this will be your first car, I still have my first car (61 lark sedan) so from my experience no matter how much you want another car as you get older, hang onto your first as long as you can. Theres many stories out there of people wishing they still had their first.
Indeed! Here's what BP asked some time ago:

And one you get it, you can add it to this page:

Hello, hello. I sure hope that you get your Lark wagon! Those are my favorite Larks as well. Just be careful when you do get it. I put my first car into a ditch two months after I got it...it was a 1968 Pontiac with a 400cu/330 hp motor (that was about ten years ago). If you end up getting the studebaker 289 V8 in your Lark, you will have plenty of opportunities to do the same...heck... even with the 259. Just remember to drive carefully...but you can still have fun.

1963 Lark Custom, 259 V8, TT, 4 doors, 2 tone paint. Driven often, always noticed. Man I love this car!!

Welcome to the club Dylan, When I was 15 my dad had a 59 lark wagon. That's one of the cars I learned to drive in. Then he bought a 48 Champion, When I got my Licences He gave it to me. Wish I had kept it. It was a gray Ragtop. I've been driving Studebakers ever since. That was 43 years ago. My son still has his first car A 51 Starlight. My daughter kept her first one untill she gave it to her son.(mbstude) A63 Daytona. I have owned the car in my signature 29 years. Allmost half my life.

Here is a little on the car. It has the original paint that is baby blue, and has a 259 2bb V8 with a 3 speed overdrive tranny. It has been a while since I have seen it and I do not remember if it was a 2 or 4 door. It has been well taken care of and is in presentible daily driver condition. I am aquiring it from a good friend who is also into studes.

What a great first car! I am jealous. Like the other folks here have said don't be shy when you need to ask a question. Let the folks here help. There is a lot of knowledge here (oh, and most of it is good).

                Welcome to the forum!
You'll never find a more Studebaker-supportive group of people anywhere. Any time you go "under the hood," you'll have dozens of talented mechanics right here with you.

Have a great time with that wagon and post a photo on the Member's page once you get her dusted off!

Welcome Dylan...how cool is this. On here we've got guys like Matt and now yourself, who are the future of this hobby. I got my own Lark from a guy less than half my age, who'd bought the car just because it was different and hence cool. And tonight at a cruise I met a guy of about 18 who acquired a '66 Cruiser this past spring; I'd seen the car a couple previous times but did not realize this owner, too, was less than half my age. The future...is here!
