That car is a couple of hours from me, but I do not recall seeing it before. Of course, if it really has less than 6K on the clock, it wasn't out and about much. Maybe Leonard has seen it before.

I have never seen it before, but if I had the money, I would buy it even if it is a Champion.
It reminds me of the one that my best friend in high school had. His wasn't as yellow, but had a blue top, and was a Commander.

Actually, I think I do know that car, but it looks more yellow in my pictures. It was at Chester Bradfields.

Actually it does look like the pale yellow in Leonard's pics in SOME of their photos outdoors, the others are washed out from the sun and the indoor ones are distorted by low light and flash and or artificial lighting to bright canary yellow.
BUT, the seller says it is SADFORD GREEN, with a Black Top! That does seem like a quite a stretch! [:0]
Don't ya just LOVE the Pepsi Insignia on the right rear quarter panel?
I could live with this beautiful thing if it were an Overdrive, but Automatic no way! With 7.10 X 15 Commander Conestoga Tires, the gear ratio would be so high, you'd be pushing it up hills!

Gorgeous car. Another example of light changing the color for pictures. Very different from Ebay to Leonard's photographs.StudeRich

That yellow looks similar to Doug Hadley's '54 Commander that I posted pictures of a while back.

Wow! Of course, that color combo is striking. And it's nice to boot!

Champion or not, it'll go nuts.
JDP/MarylandPushing $19,000 already, it's already going nuts, isn't it, John? If it goes over $20,000, will that be a record for an essentially stock Studebaker Champion of any description, anywhere? [:0]

Leonard ShepherdWell, Leonard, if it isn't the same Champion Hardtop, it's got the same license plate![:0]
(And the correct term for your "old" '64 convertible is your former '64 convertible.[^] It's not [u]old</u>; in fact -by purchase date- it's the [u]newest</u> car in my collection!)

IMHO, the beauty of these cars is in the shape...not in the engine/trans combo.
This car is absolutely gorgeous, and will do well on eBay even though it is a 6 auto.
I owned a 55 6 auto and was quite satisfied with its performance. Drive one...you might be surprised.
I doubt if anyone buying a Starliner in this condition will be commuting with it daily in LA freeway traffic or taking 2,000 mile road trips with it. For the couple thousand miles a year a car like this gets driven, the drive train is really a non issue.
The 232 V8 in '53 wasn't exactly a powerhouse either [^]
