Per SASCO Sales Letter #178, dated September 21, 1963:
64S-Y2 Challenger 4-door sedan: $2,040.00
60 Climatizer $79.95
6.00X15 WSW Tires $28.55
70 Undercoating $23.50
81 Front Seat Belts (2) $7.50
TOTAL $2,179.50
(I hope this isn't cheating.) BPWe've got to quit saying, "How stupid can you be?" Too many people are taking it as a challenge.

Bob, You should know that cheaters never win! I might add that those who are not good at math also never win! You did not add the other $7.50 for the 2nd front seat belt which would have made it $2187 (using the SASCO Sales Letter you mention). By 10-21-63 the seat belt price had gone up by .50c making the total (and correct answer) $2188.

[}] Boy, Dick, that was pretty risky, wasn't it? I mean, sending out that memo on October 21st, when the show wouldn't air until October 25th! What if some unscrupulous person within Studebaker leaked the information to a contestant on the show?
(Oh, never mind, I forgot: by October 21, 1963, all the unscrupulous people at Studebaker had bailed out and were in Detroit, working for Pontiac, building 421-powered 1964 Pontiac LeMans / GTO package "ringers" for contemporary road test magazines! [:0][8])
And regarding the $7.50 per person seat belt oversight: That will be the last time I answer one of your questions before I've finished my first cup of coffee in the morning![8][}] BPWe've got to quit saying, "How stupid can you be?" Too many people are taking it as a challenge.

Cool! So at least 4 cars went across the stage at one time. Lets find them. Wouldn't it be neat to show one with a framed still from the show, with a lovely price is right girl showing it off.

By 1963, most live TV was a thing of the past.
