  • Bud is alive, but on life support

I can get him to run and idle, as long as I keep squirting gas into the carb. If I try to throttle him up, he stalls. He sound really good when idling, I boiled the first coil up, oil just kept oozing out of it. It's just not getting fuel for some reason, I took the fuel pump off & apart, and it's pumping air. I found a large crack in the rubber fuel line, fixed it. The gas tank was bone dry so I put a little over a gallon of gas in it. It's getting spark. I guess the next step is to see if the tank has crud in it, the fuel line has got to be clogged right? I'll try to find enough fuel line to run a new line into a small can, & see if it will run that way, if it will then I know the tank and line needs removed. If not, is it the pump? It pumps air, and has suction.

    That's good news John.
Try following the steel line all the way to the tank- sometimes they get pinched shut in jacking or handling.

Maybe a little more than one gallon of gas would be helpful.

The can and hose idea will pin the problem down though.
