  • Power windows for a 51

I am building a 51 starlight coupe and want to put power windows in. Any suggestions as to what system to use. The Nu-Relic system was recomended. Any input would be appreciated.

I have them in my 51 and they work fine. But, and here is the "but",Luckily I am not using the inside door handles because I had to remove the recess in the inner panel where the inside handle remote bolts on.The recess will not allow the regulator and motor they use to tighten up to the panel flush and puts the regulator in a bind. If you want more information or pictures get back to me at tommills@earthlink.net

I am a big proponet of SPW (Specialty Power Window) in Forsythe, GA.
Lifetime warranty (which I have used...without hassle or question).
I'd call them and ask about your application.

I put the set in that works with the original regulators. I found that the doors are at such an angle that I could not get a rigid set to work. These slip over the square drive on the regulator and have brackets you attach to screw to the doors. They come with a cap that would fit into the hole in the door panel. The cable is felxable and I dropped it into the hole in the bottom of the door and mounted the motor down there. I made new door panels for my car so I didn,t use the caps. I just cut the regulator shaft off leaving enough to seat in the electric regulator. See here; http://www.thehoffmangroup.com/autol...step=universal

I have used Nu-Relics in the past and they are great.
