I just saw on the speed channel today, a segment called "Project Evaluation Series" & one of the featured vehicles was a very clean & restored Transtar truck, originally used by the Arizona Fish & Game dept. Two tone seafoam green & white I think they said. These programs are usually run a couple times & maybe will be rerun saturday morning. I thought I'd mention it, so anyone interested could tune in.

I saw that same program a few months ago. They said truck was restored to replicate one the owner had driven while working for AZ Game & Fish. It is a beauty!

I saw thre rerun yesterday and the truck is the actuak truck that the individual who owns it drove while employed by the Arizona Game and Fish Dept. They department and state of Arizona gave it to him when he retired. If you'd like to see the truck before during and after restoration it is features on Flashback Restorations website. I saw it there just as Two Guys was begining to talk about it.

Well, of course, technically, (I'm pointing this out before Gary does!) it's a 59 Deluxe and not a Transtar. No dig at you Warren.

I watched that slide show a couple of times before I finally realized there's a couple of shots in it that sure ain't no Studeebaker truck! Still, it's fun to see all the pretty photos and it makes me scratch my ol' haid a bit as I do.
First, if this WAS the original truck the guy drove - why was it a two-tone without any evidence of the fish 'n game logo on the doors in it's unrestored condition? Why would someone go to the great lengths to make the truck look this nice and leave non-stock holes in the dash?
Still - a cool truck! Of course, all C-cabs are![:I][^]

            1953 Commander coupe

No deceptive flags to prove I'm patriotic - no biblical BS to impress - just ME and Studebakers - as it should be.

Thanks Don... finally got home so I could see the pictures via the link. That is "cool"[8D][^]. Special meaning for me too as Arizona Game & Fish is a "sister" agency to my own!

Mr Biggs - You've probably already seen my discussion with Gary in another post about Matt's "Transtarized Scotty" dealing with the '59 Transtar/Deluxe name issue, so I'll say no more!

Know that there is much speculation as to if this is the real truck used my the owner while working at the AZ Fish and Game. i know when they interviewed the shop owner on Two Guys Garage that's what he said. Now i guess there's only way he knew that and that's by hearing it from the owner himself. i guess the only way we could verify that is to also ask him if we knew who he was. Anyway it's a really nice truck and a great stiry

Could always find out the serial number and get the Production Order. That would provide positive proof one way or the other!
