Is any one on the forum going to the swap meet this Sat. May 3 at Studebaker West in Redwood City, Ca.?

I was thinking about going, but after talking to many of the Sacramento folks, it seems that it may not be very well attended. If someone nearer to the meet knows differently, let me know. I don't want to make the trip if its a no-show event.

This is the first I'm hearing of it, so no, I won't be there.
Not that it's close by any means or anything. Besides~

      A) most of anything I may have had to sell is now gone [?] [?] [?]

      B) I have 'Duty' that weekend- like that really matters this close to retirement!!! [)]

      C) the Red Bull Air Races are going to be in town that same weekend... [:0]

if you don't show -- would that make it a no show event ??

Sal get over there and support the swap meet ... and what if a widow shows up with a R2

Carl goes to a lot of effort and he will have a good turnout ..and it's better than buying CA Lottery scratch off tickets ...

plus I have been plugging it on the air and in the paper ...

I'll be there with the little ones in tow. I'll be bringing a few of my c-cab dash pads and maybe that pesky 1952 dash clock that's been taking up shelf space for 56 years.

This All Studebaker Swap Meet is sponsored by the Sequoia Chapter, based in Centrial California.. Studebakers West is letting us use their paarking lot for this evemt. Currently we have a lot of vendors signed up to swap. Located in Redwood City, 50 miles south of San Francisco, the Sequoia Chapter did not advertise it to Southern California which is why Stude Dave has nor heard about it.

It is a good place to find parts. Last year, a man from Canada, attendd the Swap Meet and found all the '53 parts he was looking for.

If you are in the Central California area, we invite to to shop.

Don't know about this instance, but...........
I have heard about this kind of 'non-informing' going on a lot lately within the SDC chapter walls.
I have heard stories about events not promoted outside the chapter....
Stories about chapters not checking other chapters calendars and stepping on existing events (and not caring)
Seems to be more than a mere coincidence sometimes....

Thanks for your comments. Publicity of this Swap Meet was messed up by a volunteer and the lack of publicity was not intentional.
That person did not understand how to get publicity about the Swap Meet outside the Chapter. That problem has been corrected. Next year, the announcement will appear in Turning Wheels, and be given to the chapters in the Pacific South West Zone.

                  Thanks,

Ok. Just got a message from Carl about some parts I wanted (no mention of the event). I had no idea about the swap on Saturday. No wonder he sounded tired?

Please, does anyone have the address to his' place? I will attend!

                    Thanks,

                    Steve in Sacramento
