Guido has asked me to find some strong backs and weak minds to pull this carriage at Lancaster. I have rigged a harness for a team of 6 strong backed individuals with weak minds to pull the carriage. If you'd like to volunteer please let us know. You may ask why 6 instead of two? It's simple it takes six strong backs to replace a two hitch team. Any volunteers?

It's also possible to drag your cursor from start to end of photos and then hit the delete key. Gets rid of what is not necessary in the quote.

I don't want to get too far off-topic regarding the multiplicity of photo postings but, I for one, really appreciate Gary's desire to acquire and share the truly horse powered Studebaker products.

I will be at Lancaster and offer to be part of the hitch.

Gary, I noticed that Field Day of the Past is the same week as the Lancaster Meet. Are you going to leave the meet early or skip the Field Day?

Actually Guido, with the meet in Lancaster, you could please two groups of people with this vehicle: Members of the SDC and the local Amish population who might have some of these vehicles still in service.

If anything, you could find plenty of horses to give it a pull - including some horses big enough to put this vehicle into the "R2 equipped" wagon class.

                    Hope to see it!

I am going to try to get as much done as I can in terms of placing my displays and equipment prior for leaving for Lancaster on Sunday. I will head home late on Thursday afternoon so I can be at the show at 8:00 on Friday morning.

                        Congrats, Guido!! Nice piece!

I REEEEALY have to get going on my Izzer so I can show it off.
Do you finish yours with automotive paint? Use body filler? I have modified the seat to be removed so that is is not so high and stuck out there in the wind when transporting. BTW, how do you transport yours? Modified trailer? Enclosed?

                          Roger,

All of mine have come to me in the condition shown. I bought one to redo, but sent it to Australia with Ian MacKellar. I have both an open and enclosed trailer that I use, the enclosed trailer really cuts into my fuel economy.

That is a great buggy, Gary. I wish I had found the time to get over there and see your horse drawn stable while in Williamsburg two weeks ago. My local Amish guys would appreciate those beauties, but they are probably too English for their world. They like 'em plain and that one is so beautiful it would probably be like having spinners and a Unique Autosports paint job on them. Can't wait to check it out in Lancaster.
