  • Repro Halibrands dead?

I assume the effort to make another run of Halibrand copies is not going to happen? The ads in TW have stopped and I have not gotten a call from the manufacturer about the set I ordered.

I has a set ordered also and was told delivery would be this past April, then June and in July I called and was told he did not know when they would be produced again. I found that his supplier had shut down the company and the tooling would not work on others equipment. Re tooling costs would exceed $30,000.00. So.......the probability of another run is small.
    It is an addiction!

ID:	1812853 Were these manufactured (or distributed) by So Cal Machine? I have a set of theirs on my '56 Corvette.

Those look like the "Salt Flat" Wheels, forgot who made them though.

Vetteson those look similar to wheels on my Avanti made by PS Engineering . ET Sebring still offers a kidney bean style wheel but haven’t seen them in person .

I’m helping a friend restore a ‘64 Avanti, and he tells me he just ordered a set 2 weeks ago. Said he talked to the supplier who was gearing up to make another run of them. Anyone know how accurate this is?

There are a lot of distributors of "kidney bean" and "salt flat" wheels, most are steel and are bolt on with figurative knock-offs. The ones I got are alloy 16X6 with true knock-off hubs. I honestly don't know who made them but they are very good wheels. 4 wheels plus hub/adapters were about $4500 in 2016.

You know Kenny (and others who have said the same thing), I have to wonder if MONEY is involved in these "Orders"?

                          Kenny,
I was #2 when Real Rodders said that they were taking orders for the Halibrands back in 2015? I was pleased with the quality, price, and timeline, however I know things change. Would I take the chance today? Knowing what I've experienced, I'd say, "Go for it." However you're working on the Avanti for someone else and that presents another dimension of concerns.
