Ouch. Andy missed a golden opportunity. They should have put Fuzzy in the driver's seat and made it look like they were push-starting him then photo shop in a little exhaust smoke as the car rolled into the shop for restoration.

The car is being restored to its original movie appearance and will also be able to be driven. Several years ago I had the honor of having the car in the America On Wheels Museum in Allentown Pa. where it was a big hit. Yes, Brad Fonzzie was in the driver's seat.sigpicSee you in the future as I write about our past

I read in the SB Tribune that had $60k allotted for the project. I don't support the decision, as it's too much money for it. Way t5oo much. But, I guess novelty cars are all the fashion with the general public, these days.

It does say the Museum has collected $60K toward the expensive Restoration, but will get help from the Movie Prop Co. Razorfly that worked on the Muppet Movie.
But really, $175,000.00 ? Things in North Carolina must Really be expensive !StudeRich

Remember the plastic bullet was replaced with a camera for the hidden driver inside the trunk as per the November, 1979 Turning Wheels article on it.

Will Walt Disney Company will allow the use of likenesses of the Muppet characters that appeared in the film inside the car to be displayed with it at no charge, be it on display in the museum, or 'on show' somewhere?
