  • Studebakers in movies

In the English film The Ladykillers (1955) starring Alec Guinness and Peter Sellers among others the robbers use a 1951 Studebaker sedan which appears to be painted Shenandoah green in the robbery scene. A good movie but in my view not as good as the 2004 American black comedy thriller film directed by Joel and Ethan Coen based on the 1955 British comedy film of the same name.

This past year (2018) the film Bigger (The Joe Weider Story) about the life of real-life bodybuilders Joe Weider and Ben Weider was filmed in Birmingham, AL. My two 1951 Studebaker Commander starlight coupe were in several scenes. You must look closely however to see them.

There is a major topic/thread that has been running for some time about Studebakers in movies. Perhaps this can be melded in with that one.

EDIT: That topic is called "Studebakers in the Movies" and started in 2005.

I had mentioned earlier that other than my sickness for Studes, I also have a sickness for rotten horror movies. Would anyone like to know what movies starred Studes? Just for fun.
