1960 lark under hood paint color

Getting ready to paint. I know the hood latches are cadmium. I can't tell the color of the hood hinges,rod and springs.
Help?

I parted a 60 Lark and those were all black.

I agree with Mark, but I have two cautions. The black is a satin, not gloss. Second is the originally some shortcuts, in 1960, on the production line showed up under the hood as unpainted lower section of the inner fenders. These show up on original cars as dull black primer, or in moister climates covered with rust. Your car, your call, just trying to give you a heads up.

Ditto. I paint hinges matte or semi-gloss black. Never seen cad plated hinges---at least any vestiges of cad on an original. I'm sure people have painted them silver, Al, cad, and pink. I don't think Studebaker gave a single thought to the underside of the hood the best it probably got was a very thin coat of dark gray primer and often just over spray. Working on 57 Clipper and it didn't even have much of anything but overspray under the hood. It is white now like the top of the hood.

The '61 Lark I bought from it's original owner was definitely painted body color on it's underside. I remember the hinges being satin black, as mentioned, but don't remember any cad plating on anything.
