The front looks great (even if it is a little busy)- that trunk is horrible though. And with the roof removed, that back window is going to blow out the back at highway speeds.

Overall its a nice looking car- when you experiment (as this was), some things are going to work, and some are not.

I have a strong feeling that Robert Bourke would not be happy.

I like the roof and the windshield treatment. The rest.............well, I think it's a good thing they specialized in boats.

Why would he care? According to the article Virgil Exner designed the 53.

The front end looks ok, but the back is hideous. The windshield looks wierd with no "A" pillars but still having fixed door window tracks, and the door window header makes the removeable roof not only pointless but also dangerous. Any time you'd get in or out of the thing with the roof off you'll more than likely either bang your head or "clothesline" yourself on that disembodied door header.

Just like some of the weird stuff built today, I'm sure this car got plenty of attention in its day. In the end, it is another example of how hard it is to improve on the original design.

Looks like a back to the future style car, so maybe it should fly away to the future and never come back. a lot of money and fiber glass wasted.

I believe that the point was to get "attention" for the business.

I also agree with Bensherb's statement; "The front end looks ok, but the back is hideous."

I bet it looks great from about a quarter mile.
