  • Anyone know of a 348 powered Stude?

Went to the NHRA Reunion (Bakersfield, upper...So. Cal.) yesterday. More Studes than normal. There was a 53/54 coupe there with a 348 or 409 (Chevy) under the hood.
Anyone know who it belongs to?
He did a very nice job in doing the swap. Tripower, Offy parts, headers, looked like a factory placement.

Another guy I've done some head porting for had two cars there. A 55 coupe and a 32(?) Ford, fenderless, 2dr sedan with a Stude engine in it.

A few others beside my 59 Lark 2dr wagon.
Made most of the trip out and back (about a 365 mile round trip) with the tach. needle just above or just below 3500rpm. No problems.

    Mike

You mean Bakersfield, lower central Cal, right? There's that little detail of a mountain range between SoCal and the central valley.[}]

    Miscreant adrift in
    the BerStuda Triangle!!

    1957 Transtar 1/2ton
    1960 Larkvertible V8
    1958 Provincial wagon
    1953 Commander coupe
No deceptive flags to prove I'm patriotic - no biblical BS to impress - just ME and Studebakers - as it should be.

There was a "rat rod" 30's Stude at York either this year or last with a 348 under where the hood should have been
