Yeah, saw that and agree. Too many similarities to be a coincidence.

Thanks for posting that. I saw it in our paper today, but hadn't taken time to try to scan it. I Googled Bob Weber, Jr and found that his dad, Bob Weber, Senior is 84 years old and was a long time cartoonist. He certainly would remember Studebakers. Bob Jr opted to follow in his father's footsteps so he must have learned something about Studebakers himself. The Slylock Fox cartoons have appeared in our Sunday papers for a long time and some time back Studebaker caricatures appeared every so often.

Definitely has Studebaker designs. Right on down to the Champion design headlamp rims rotated 180*.Thought perhaps the cartoon was drawn by Brian Crane. I always look for Earl’s Studebaker in the cartoon strip “Pickles “.

I'm not so sure. I don't see any trace of oil drops underneath.

The cartoonist is Bob Weber Jr. whose dad was a cartoonist when Studebakers were still being built. The 56 headlight rings do mimic the earlier ones, but do not have the park lights anymore. Those one year only park lights are in the front panel.

Even made the Winnipeg Free Press.

My wife thought I was crazy when I pointed it out!

I forget the cartoon, but there was a '50 in a cartoon a few weeks ago.

There is NO Doubt that this is not only a Studebaker Bus, but also a '56 because ONLY a '56 would have the Chrome Studebaker vent in the Hood AND "Arrow" Parking Lights as well as the '54 to '56 Steel Transtar Grille.

                            Pretty COOL!
