Does anybody need a room for the show? I have a room reserved at the Crowne Plaza (across the street from the show) for Thursday through Sunday ($117 per night). I don't need the room. I am going to cancel it but I thought I'd ask if anybody wants it first.

Sorry to hear you're unable to attend.

Craig I am happy to report that Jim is attending this year but not staying overnight . He volunteered to bring Craig VonAllmens 63 R-1 Lark as well as singing up to be a Judge since we have a 1963 Avanti attending that is going to be Concours Judged .

Ed causes me a lot of work but I love it as it makes me finish up projects, and this show is a lot of fun. I have watched intently on this forum the great progress of the Whistler and ABKCOs junkyard find 63 Daytona which seem to be going much faster than this project.
One big reason for us to be there this week is to watch Ed's sign painter to do his hand-lettering work on your car this weekend.

Of course we will help move it in place for the show, and back into your trailer when its over. (Does the show really have to end??) Once again, we want to see as many as possible come to Chicago this year for MCACN! Its all indoors in the massive Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont and there are regular shuttles from O'Hare to the Center and all the nearby hotels, which makes having to rent a car unnecessary.

Are the California forest fires threatening your vineyards, Justin? BP

We had all the grapes harvested just before the threat of smoke taint. Apparently it shows up in wines that have been exposed to prolonged periods of smoke from fires. It happened to us last year when we had fires here in Napa and Sonoma. At this time, the only thing happening here are school closures and canceling of outdoor events. My prayers are with the many people north of me and Sal, who are in real danger.

I have always wanted to attend but always have conflicts on Saturday. I could possibly come Sunday. Is that still ok or does everyone bug out early?

Please come Sunday, Kurt. No one is allowed to "bug out" early; the show runs at 100% participation until the doors close. BP

Sitting the the hotel lobby at 4:30 a.m. while my co-pilot, Bob Barrick, catches some well deserved zzzzs. They let us load in the 55 early Thursday, but with 500 cars coming into a very busy city, I can't say enough about the MCACN volunteers. Patient, friendly and so helpful. We left Ontario Wednesday evening with the car on an open trailer and apart from tearing the bumper off the tow vehicle with a dumb jack-knife, doh!, everything went smoothly. Snow in Ontario and snow in Chicago. Bob brought his GPS and I can't imagine how difficult it would have been without it. The pre-sell of this show is no exaggeration. The car culture is alive and well with so many young people giving time, money and skill to put these awesome cars together. We have pre-show passes for today and will be back at the convention centre this morning. They are still loading in, starting at 7 a.m. this morning. Looking forward to the Studebaker crew putting on a show. The car was left with the key in it so anyone who needed to get past it can. Ed, if you need to move it, it's all yours. Big hug to Ed and Cyndi and hope to see everyone who attends.

Is this the first time the museum's 64V-20202 has ever been out of South Bend?
