Wonder if the general public would be impressed with the fact you are "friends" with one of the founders??? Not information I personally would proffer, considering the general consensus of opinion of that organization:-(

I am friends with one of the founders. He was an insurance executive and AARP was originally founded mostly on an insurance basis. Many still use it for their Medicare supplement insurance.

Not trying to "impress" anyone, especially the "general public". AFAIK, he has not been associated with AARP for decades. He is a gentleman that does a lot of charity work. I am proud to be friends with him and his wife. There is even a Studebaker connection. Someone in his wife's family was a Studebaker dealer.

But it didn't call for negative rants concerning AARP either. The Studebaker connection was the AARP Magazine.
