  • South Bend / Studebaker watch owners

I know there's a few of you out there who own Studebaker and or South Bend pocket watches.

I recently found a guy that does cleaning / repair for a very reasonable price.
I sent him a 227 and a 217 movement watches for "whatever", they needed.

Both watches came back, not only working, keeping good time (yea, one slightly better than the other, but that's an easy fix), but the whole watch was worked. The covers go on and come off smoother, the winding and adjusting is smoother. And both of these watches have been worked by other repair folks in the past..! This guy "worked" every part of the watch to make it better, and like I said, MUCH better than the previous repairers work (yes, I know of the Stude watch guys).

Even though I'm now on what people call...a "fixed" income (retired..!), I'll be sending more of my watches to him for cleaning / repair.

Many of you know I don't hand out praise often, but I believe this guy is worth more than what he gets for his work.

One word of warning, he's not fast, but the work is worth the wait.

Good to know. I have a few watches that are not Studebaker and I found someone who is good, but it was not cheap. Family pieces, so worth the cost being more than they are worth. I do know a fantastic clock person in western NC, if anyone needs clock repair.
