I would almost bet that most folks who have ever had enough parts to sell at a swap meet (even a local meet) probably have one or two of those stashed somewhere. You know...it's the kind of item found in that old dirty box of miscellaneous junk usually found in a box on the floor/ground under the table. Shucks, I might have one being used as a cradle for a whole summer's worth of baby spiders somewhere in my man cave.
Give it some time, and if no one responds in a day or two, keep bumping up this thread. Hopefully, someone will see the post at the same time they remember where the one "THEY" have is laying. Good luck.John Clary

Thanks, not a big hurry, just did not want that great Arizona 105 degree air, now heated by the engine to 150-160 degrees blowing in. Had a piece of duct tape covering it before

Jim, on my 52 the speedo cable comes through the same grommet as the oil pressure line. Looks like yours may have been the same at some point. That lower hole is just taped over, looks like it was that way from the factory. I know StudebakerParts has the parts new if you wanted to go that way.3H-C5 "The Blue Goose"

Funny, I sent my last post before I saw yours and came to the same conclusion. Do not know why I did not think this through. Saw the hole with the two screw holes and figured that is were it would go.51 Studebaker Starlight State Commander Coupe

Then again...in true CASO fashion...you could run down to your nearest Harbor Freight store and buy one of these ball transfer bearings,(about two bucks) rip it apart, throw away the ball, split the casing, make a grommet from an old tire and there you have it!

The 1716-40A is a 523232 Grommet
The 1716-42 is a 195803 Retainer
Both NEW on Pg. 124.
Then, you can Route the cable in the correct Hole.StudeRich
