'Way cool. 'Sure wish we had that car's Serial Number. There were some promotional cars built with Pace Car livery that were neither the actual Pace Cars nor "regular" 500 Festival 259s. Do you know if his car survives, regardless of color? BP

Bob, your post #5 (Colorado) got my memories rolling. I wonder if the Red repainted 62 Pace Car Conv. is the car being restored? The fellow that owned it was retired in 1982. As for the 1987 photo of an original, I have no clue where it was from. I should have walked down and took a photo of the Tag.

        Bob,

How were the parade cars dispersed after the event? Did they stay local, or were they moved around the country? The reason I ask, is that I have an original white 62 with red and white interior. The car has original paint and had a white top, that was painted black. The car has a 259, auto. I think 331 gears, but not sure which model RE. I lost my build sheet, but it was delivered to either southern Cal. or Las Vegas.

I Never gave it a thought, until I saw the pictured lineup at Indy. I know that 62 was a pretty good year for the convertible, so still think that odds are slim, but.... Not where I can lay my hands on my old TW's, so what should I look at?

The issue you want is January, 1993. All the Festival and Pace Car Serial Numbers are listed therein....or at least the ones we can find. None have turned up since research was done for that article, and we are positive the two cars built and identified as the actual Pace Cars are the real deal.

If you can't find yours, I have one remaining extra from my Surplus Sale a couple months ago:
