Getting the GT Hawk ready for paint....any suggestion as the best way to remove the stainless stripes across the tops of the fenders?....pry'em up and off?

I think these are nearly the same as the '53-'56 except for the very ends. If so, use a wide bladed putty knife and pry from the outside side of the car. They hook over the clips on the inside (trunk) side and snap on the outside. Best to slide the blade around until you locate the clips so to pry nearest to them, otherwise you may distort it.
