How do you set the caster and camber on a 61 hawk

  • #2
The best place to start is getting a Book Copy or a CD Rom Disc. copy of the '59 to '64 Studebaker Shop Manual.

The adjustment is made at the Upper Outer Pins, an Allen Wrench is used to turn the Pin after removing a Zerk Fitting and loosening the Clamp Bolt. Like all Cars, it does take an Alignment Rack to properly set it up though.

Multiple turns of the Upper Outer Pin will change the Caster, and AFTER that is set small movements less than 1/2 turn will adjust the Camber.

You also can gain (or loose) camber angle by rotating the upper cross shaft 180 degrees to get that you need.
