Too bad Studebaker didn't produce or contract out to make something this cool for the US back in the day. I'm thinking about how those old Ford and Chevy panels are popular and desirable with the Hot Rodders.
1963 Champ "Stu Bludebaker"- sometimes driver
1957 Silver Hawk "Josie"- picking up the pieces after an unreliable body man let it rot for 11 years from an almost driver to a basket case
1951 Land Cruiser "Bunnie Ketcher" only 47M miles!
1951 Commander Starlight "Dale"- basket case
    1947 Champion "Sally"- basket case
1941 Commander Land Cruiser "Ursula"- basket case

Interesting how the near "R" Series looks taller, more H.D. like a 3/4 Ton and the far one looks puny like a 1/2 Ton!

I agree Christophe, I've always had a soft spot for the 60's chevy apache suburban & panel vans, imagen a Champ panel van...

From 1951 to 1957, Studebaker built several thousand 4WD, RHD, V8 trucks for the Indian military, and exported several thousand more trucks for civilian customers in India. Some of them still exist, and some had van bodies added locally. From Stude Truck Talk:

Really nice vans! It´s a pity Studebaker didn´t produce such vans, and vans like the R10 we discuss.

Here is another nice (1941?) M5 Studebaker with european connection, a panel van in Oslo. It´s a screenshot from the film Gatelangs ("along the streets") from 1951 made by the police to instruct the citizens on how to behave in the traffic. You can see the film at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=StT6ZRwrjxE. The Studebaker appears at 8 minutes sharp. You must see the film, it´s beautiful exposé of cars and city life. Does any of our Norweigan friends know anything about this panel van, or coach built Studebakers in Norway?
