Truck Inner tubes

Hello all,
I have a 1949 Studebaker 2r5 pickup I have been working with my grandfather on and Its almost drive able. I had picked up some coker tires from a guy who had taken them off his 1950 chevy pickup and had the tires and tubes for a decent price. Well the inner tubes dont work as the valve stem is offset. I cant seem to find anything on inner tubes for studebaker and so I thought I would check here to see if any one knows of any that are available so I can use my current tires and not have to go buy new tubless tires. I have already gotten the original rims powder coated. Any help is appreciated!

You will need to check with your Local Firestone, Cooper, Goodyear or "Other" Tire Store, for "straight" Valve Stem Tubes.
The 45 Degree Type were used on Heavier than a 1/2 Ton Truck, usually with Dual Wheels.

They would not be "Studebaker Specific", so you only need to search for the correct SIZE Truck Tube to fit your current Tires.

Are your Wheels and Tires 15 Inch?

You may have a 2R11 3/4 Ton or a 2R5 with the H.D. 16 Inch Wheel option. OR, some kind of modification.

Not that it matters much at this point, but for the record, the truck data book and parts books show that standard equipment tires on 2R5 trucks were 4-ply 6.00 x 16". Optional sizes were 6-ply 6.00 x 16, 6-ply 6.50 x 16 and 4-ply 7.10 x 15.

And don't forget, your wheels are for tube type and will not seal for tubeless so don't try. Also make sure you procure new liners and install them with the tubes to protect them from any inconsistencies in the wheel.

Farm stores are a good source for tubes. A lot of tire stores no longer carry them.
