Stude sightings on a certain island...

Hi all--long time no post...

After being badgered for years so to do, I went to Cuba last month with old bud (and fellow SDCer) Garnet Bell. Wonderful trip, frankly wish I were still there (it snowed madly here last night and the temperature is far, far too cold for my liking!). Of course a prime objective on the visit was to see and, to the degree possible, photograph as many Studebakers as I could. I ended up logging thirteen Studebakers and one "pretender" during the week, getting at least one halfway-decent photo of seven of the Studes and the "pretender". (Also saw four Ramblers, two Kaisers and one Packard, and scads of Big Three classics.)

Have put the Stude pix onto P'bucket (not without glitches, of course); won't try to post any individual ones here but will include a link to the album in case anyone can successfully view it...I plan to send a blurb to TW too in case Ann's interested in some Stude coverage from a place less frequently covered. (Sorry about the triple uploads of a couple of the Stude pix. See above re P'bucket glitches...)

I agree with Jerry about photbucket.
I quit using them about 5 years ago when they changed, and now more recently they changed their policy and removed thousands of pictures from many sites, which left them pretty much useless. Now I only post directly from my own computer.

I was able to view the pics OK, after I X'ed out a subscription beg from photobeggar. That blue bullet-nose looks really weird in the back half. '50 Chevy, maybe?

OK...had not even heard of Imgur, but have now put a few of my Cuban Stude shots on there...let's see how well she works...here is, maybe, a '50-51 droptop with a Buick-like nose job and non-Stude windshield...seen from the back seat of a '56 Ford 4dr ragtop (phantom) in Varadero...

Eureka! OK, here come some more. Aft end of the white droptop, patriotically decorated and much more stock-looking than the nose...

Here's a '50 Champion that was probably either a two-door sedan or a Starlight to start with, but some fascinating things have been done to it over time. It's the other way round from the white ragtop: looks fairly normal from the front, but out back, she's a bit bewildering. As can be seen, sort of, the interior's many kinds of abnormal too.

As anyone who knows me (or the Studes I've owned) might surmise, I sorta wish I could buy and import this one. It suits me...
