Interesting how the 2R models are referred to as an express. I thought that term went extinct after the early M series.

Wow, $13.00 of Inflation between 1959 and 1961..

Where they real high fidelity model?

$135.00 is pretty spendy for a car dealer.

I am unable to read the fine print, but I see the price going from $15.00 to $16.60, not an increase of "$13.00".

I can't read the prices but, as I recall, it was for a quantity like a dozen or half dozen but I do not believe that was the individual price.

For your edification $13.80 per dozen (coaster) in 1959 and $16.60 per dozen in 1961.

Yes, for sure for '61 and almost sure for '59.

An aquatence of mine was a young designer at Ford in the mid 60's and indicated that That he had visited Johan on a couple of occasions. It was owned by an individual and the plant was located in a run down section of Detroit. The business was for sale but no one would buy it because of the environmental concerns from the plant building and the haphazard way the chemicals had been disposed of in the past. Johan reran some 62 Convertibles and eventually sold the tooling and perhaps some of the equipment but sadly I haven't seen models for quite some time.
