  • 53 Coupe chassis with stainless brake lines, remote battery setup.

Here is a link to a 53 Coupe chassis that we have installed stainless hard lines and stainless flex lines for the 4 wheel disc brake system. We have also installed a battery cable for a trunk installation of the battery, as well as dual grounding of the motor. Also installed are the dual stainless exhaust support brackets from Fairborn Studebaker. We added the grommet style insulators on them, as well as the insulators through the shock mount crossover. Fairborn Studebaker installed the disc brake setup, as well as the rack and pinion independent front suspension, and many other chassis items. They also supplied the R3 headers, and the brackets from a later model coupe (56 and later?) that centers the gas tank for dual exhaust. This is Miata Bob's car, who has supervised and coordinated this project diligently.

We hope to be installing the fuel feed and return lines next for the fuel injection.

sigpic 1963 Studebaker Avanti: LS1 motor and T-56 transmission have been moved rearward, set up as a two seat coupe with independent rear suspension. Complex solutions for nonexistant problems.

I thought all those tubular ifs systems for the stock Stude setup were all plagued with the same bump steer problems... YES? NO?
