53 Champion VIN??

I am selling my 53 champion built in Los Angeles. The sales agent says the engine number and title don't match because my title has two number '1' in the stamp and the engine number shows these as 'I'. Please tell me if these are identical or not.

I believe that the Studebaker Chassis and the Body Parts Catalogs do make this clear, in case a DMV person questions it, and they ALWAYS do.

So far, any reference to serial numbers I've found call out the number 1.
