I used some leftover mesh from my porch screen, trimmed to fit.

I think it is a solid look on the wagons. I am toying with the idea of removing the vertical bars from the indicator mesh so as to match the grill

You could do that OR Flat Black them out. But you know what, you will end up fairly close to the better looking '59 Lark and '61-'64 Champ Parking Light that does have only Horizontal Bars.
