  • Studebaker Lark drag car

Does anyone know the whereabouts of this car? This is the cover of the May 1986 turning wheels. It was the first issue I received with my new membership. I was just 16, and had just got my first car - 1963 Lark. Imagine my delight to see this on the cover! Just curious and always wonder if it's still around. I've never seen or heard of it again. I'm surprised the popularity of the PSMCDR within the SDC hasn't brought it out.

I showed my 57 Transtar at Nashville TN meets around 1984-88. This (All Business) Light Lark was there once at least. It had a mean sounding Avanti 2 355 CI engine with go fast goodies! If you look close at the hood scoop you'll see Avanti 2.
        My 1st car. "A TRANSTAR"

This car would not qualify for the PSMCDR because it is not stock, but I'm sure it would be welcome at the orphan drag races.

          1952 Commander 2 door. Really fine 259.

Right! Clearly not stock. So wrapped up and reminiscing I overlooked that important detail! Ha
