Back in the time when smoking & cigarette lighters were still popular in motor cars Studebaker had them fitted as an accessory or perhaps a necessity!! I wonder how many owners have their lighters working today?
To support the cravings of smokers Studebaker along with other Car Manufacturers brought out complimentary lighters. I recall seeing one with Studebaker Erskine meaning they went back to the late Twenties at least.
The image shows a selection from the late Thirties to the Sixties with the Lark & Mercedes on one lighter plus the Gravely example after their takeover by Studebaker in 1960.The boxed Studebaker International by Zippo is nice & passionately hunted by serious Zippo collectors. By the way I do not smoke!!
