In case you did not know--------- sometimes a Time Guide can help give clarity to how to do a repair while these were mainly produced to help the shop determine the time required for a job they sometimes show the steps required for a repair and help you understand what the shop manual is saying. they have been a help to me several times. You see these at swap meets and online occasionally

No, I think he is referring to the Time and Step guide published by Studebaker, or something like that. I fully agree with what says about them.KURTRUK

Whenever I read one of mine, I laugh at the times they say are required, because they must have been using Brand New, clean Cars and Trained Mechanics who have done many before to figure those.
By the time I wire brush, de-rust, clean, Primer, and top coat all the brackets and fasteners, washers, nuts etc. after struggling to remove them, cut bolts etc. not to mention the actual Part itself, it must take over 10 times the allotted time to do anything.StudeRich

I agree with Rich that the amounts of time allotted for service and repair tasks in the Time and Step guides are ridiculously short. It doesn't help that I'm also ridiculously inept.John

I agree with Rich about the short times also. About the only time I could really save and make money was when doing air conditioning jobs.
I do have several Chilton and Motor's flat rate manuals, and they do have lot of good exploded views and information not always found in the Service Manuals.
