I am sure as sharp as all are on this forum it has already been covered, but who knows of this 1963 Gt Hawk , R1 ., 4 spd that was reworked on the show, I just saw the episode, I hope it was not one of our own that passed it off as a restored car with fiberglass floors and the typical worn out steering gear,,1953 qtrs

That Rose Mist '63 GT Hawk R1 4 Speed with Chestnut Interior sure looks familiar, I think I saw Pics of it on eBay, maybe that was where the current owner found it.
I am not sure exactly WHERE I saw it, but the Double Grille Emblems with a R1 Super Hawk Emblem stuck above the Stock Chevron and the Magnum 500 Wheels with the Stude. Red, White & Blue stickers on them just ring a bell.
That was definitely a case of poor purchasing, not doing his homework!
He could have bought a SOLID GT Hawk, not rusted out or wrecked for less than he Paid and saved all the money spent "Repairing" the so called "Restoration".
One of the "Mistakes" they made repairing it, was leaving that twice as tall as correct Air Cleaner Element or a "like replacement" on it, after the Engine rebuild. It's a very good thing that they sent it out for rebuild because they would have really screwed that up.StudeRich

I do not watch Fathtom Works. The first time I saw the show, there was a R series truck that he grafted on a 50 Bullet nose, had all the paint taken off and clear sprayed on and then at the end when the owner settled the bill, I think is was around $150,000. That was for maybe close to a year of work. PT Barnum was right.
I have just about stopped watching all the shows that Velocity, History Channel, Discovery put out. I do set my DVR on Dennis Gage My Classic Car, but that is about it. I did DVR Chasing Classic Cars Rerun on the 54 Commander. History Channel used to have good shows years ago that did feature marques. Many were narrated by Ed Hermman. I wish they would bring some back just so we could DVR or by DVD's

Wander around Youtube and Google, you may be surprised about what shows you can find. BobOriginally posted by 6hk71400 View PostI do not watch Fathtom Works. Yes, that was a fun episode to watch, especially when they took it out for a test run!Originally posted by sweetolbob View PostRestoration Garage had an episode with a 57 Golden Hawk last week, if you want to dig it up on the web.
The mechanic had some good things to say about a very nice example the Guild had restored a few years back.
