Hi my name is Brandon Pfeifer. I am Tom pfeifers grandson. After a couple years of research, I have found the car. The guy who my grandpa sold it to passed away and now his grandson owns it. After talking to the current owner I found out that its located in Locust, Nc. Only about an hour away. He said the car is still running as it did when his grandpa bought it from mine many years ago. Unfortunately he said at the moment the car isn't for sale but if they decide to my grandpa, dad, or I would be the only people he would sell it to becuase of how much it means to the family. With that being said, I'm glad to have located the car for you grandpa, and here soon if all goes well I will have a very special gift to give you in a couple of years.

Hi Brandon,
You already just now gave me a very special gift by locating the car.
Your efforts to find it have brought a tear or two to this old man's eyes. I'm so happy to hear it still exists and that you've talked to the current owner. For you to own it would be the best that I could ever ask for. OK, so maybe a ride in it once more might top that. haha

I guess the guy that currently owns it now got it from his grandpa before he passed away and then they moved down here to North Carolina. That's all I really was able to find out when I talk to him. He said it definitely needs fixed up. Needs new brakes, some interior work, new paint job, and a few other small things here and there.Originally posted by r1lark View PostSo what is the back story on how the car ended up in North Carolina?

Major thanks for the photo Brandon.
Considering all that car has been through since 1952, it's amazing that it still looks that good.
If the current owner decides to sell it, I'll fund the purchase price, if you and your dad will fix it up together.

Just to add some more history of the car for Brandon, his dad (my son) Steve, and anyone else who's been following this thread, would you mind if I include what you sent me in a private message about two years ago?Originally posted by rkchkr View PostWow ,has it been over two years since I checked this thread?! Great job finding the car Brandon. Hopefully some friendly persuasion gets it back in yours or Mr. Pfeifer's possession.

Thanks Vince. So here it is, from about 2 years ago and again, I thank you for the information and history. For other reader's, the farm Vince mentions, is near the intersection of US 6 & US 23 about 30 miles South of Toledo, Ohio.Originally posted by rkchkr View PostNo sir ,I would not mind at all Mr. Pfeifer.
Hello Mr. Pfeifer , My name is Vince ,I'm the son of the man (Milton) you bought the '52 from so many decades ago. While I can't help you find the car ,I just wanted to say hello ,and that I have thought of the car many times over the years, and have searched the internet hoping to find a picture or two of it. Your posts here are the first time I've seen pictures. Thank you for that! I have an old newspaper clipping, probably from the Toledo Blade, that my mom saved, that I could send a scan of it to your email if you're interested. I believe it is about your first record with the car?....not sure. It's old and faded, but still readable. I remember that you stopped by the farm with the car on a trailer, and as a young boy it was quite exciting to see the transformation from a once family car to a RACE CAR! Memories fade over the years, but as I remember it, it was the very night he bought the car, and was driving it home. Me in the back seat falling asleep, my older brother in the front with dad when we ran into an ice storm. The last thing I remember was my dad telling my brother "we're either going in the ditch, or hitting that telephone pole." That's why it had a blue front clip on it, telephone pole. I'm pretty sure the front clip was one year different from the car, a '53 maybe? You would know that better than me, I am sure! Anyhow, just thought I would say hello and offer up a wee bit of history about the car before you acquired it. LOL

It's pretty cool to see how far the car has gotten since the 50s. I'm glad to know that it's still exists and is in pretty decent condition. I've been seeing quite a few Studebakers posted on Facebook lately for decently cheap. But they're all going to need a decent amount of work and restoration done to them. Would be pretty cool to build something almost identical to the original. I saw one posted in Tennessee about 5 months ago for $850. If I the money for it and a way to get it before it sold I definitely would have gotten it. There was also a 289 V8 with the transmission about 20 miles from that car but they have since both been sold. Hopefully later down the road I can find one in fairly decent condition and fix it up. It may not be the original but it would still be cool to have something close to it.
