  • Secure parking for extended stay

Since our Avanti isn't ideal for touring we will be trailering it to the show and plan to extend our trip for a couple of weeks as an anniversary present to ourselves. Ideally we would like to cruise the north-central region and see the sites including Corvette Museum, Mammoth caves area and whatever else will be interesting to visit. This being the case we don't really need to be towing the car everywhere we go so a secure parking compound for a relatively modest cost would help a lot. Does anyone know of such a facility near South Bend or somewhere close by? Thanks muchly.

Happy anniversary & sounds like a great trip!
Don’t know about your parking question, but if you hope to have tickets to Mammoth Cave you ought to reserve them now.
On my Sept 2020 retirement trip we drove in cold & learned that there were no openings for several weeks. We made it back last Spring WITH reservations, but the situation was the same; no walk-in tickets available.

While in Kentucky, you might consider going on some part of the Bourbon Trail.

I have to extend many thanks to Bill for his generous offer and say this has been one of the most harrowing experiences I have had trying to attend an International meet. I don't think I will be attending any more meets in northern climates in May... We decided to include a bit of a holiday to our time so we are trying to get a bit more of a trip in BEFORE the meet, but... We will now be loading our car on Monday after the snow and head south chasing the big storm. I hope it stays ahead of us. See you in South Bend.

I started this thread... Update: Newest forecast is rain Sunday and intermittent snow Monday. I think I will have to load the trailer in the rain. Driving anything up a ramp in the snow is a fool's errand. I guess I will have a whole bunch of detailing to do before I head to the show. Unfortunately, I have new rear vent window seals but I haven't slated time to install them because I was never in a hurry to drive in the rain, again. I will stuff the back seat with towels. Meh... See you all in a week or so.
